s3.resolve_endpoint_url()

Return the endpoint an S3 path’s requests go to.

s3.resolve_endpoint_url(path)

An endpoint_url in the path’s storage options wins, then one inside its client_kwargs, the same precedence s3fs applies. Without either, the path’s profile, or the default profile for a path with explicit credentials, is looked up with configured_endpoint_url(), which is what s3fs’s own client resolves to. A profile whose config section carries endpoint_url therefore points GDAL at the same gateway s3fs already talks to.

str or None

The endpoint, or None for plain AWS.
