mgrs.mgrs_to_crs()

Derive the UTM CRS from an MGRS grid reference string.

mgrs.mgrs_to_crs(mgrs_code)

Parameters

mgrs_code: str

An MGRS grid reference (e.g. "32TMT64"). Single-digit zones such as "4QFJ15" are accepted.

Returns

CRS

The pyproj.CRS for the UTM zone.

Raises

ValueError

If the reference is malformed or the zone is outside 1-60.
